Since the Republican era, Kang Youwei, Liang Qichao and other sages introduced Western technology and ideas, accepting them under the guise of "science" and "democracy", to the present time, scholars pursue Chinese storytelling and emphasize cultural self – confidence, what have been changed is the posture of the entire Chinese nation. In the process of dialogue between Chinese studies as a cultural resource and Western scholarship, the American sinologist Beata Grant is a typical example.
